SHIPBOARD SYSTEMS MANAGER
(Responsible for the day-to-day operations of AS/400/Windows NT/POS platforms while living onboard a passenger cruise ship). The position requires a motivated self-starter with 1-2 years AS/400 and Win/NT experience. POS knowledge is a plus.
The Shipboard Systems Manager is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of the AS/400, Windows NT and POS platforms on board a passenger cruise ship. They live on the ship and provide technical support to ensure the smooth running of all shipboard computer systems. The position requires a motivated self-starter with 1-2 years of experience working with AS/400 and Win/NT platforms, as well as knowledge of POS systems being a plus. The Shipboard Systems Manager works closely with the IT department staff to maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade shipboard computer systems, and is responsible for ensuring that all systems are running efficiently to support the ship’s operations.


COMPUTER SYSTEMS HARDWARE TECHNICIAN
installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and upgrades computer hardware, software, personal computer networks, peripheral equipment, and electronic mail systems; assesses user training needs and trains users in effective use of applications.
As a Computer Systems Hardware Technician on a cruise ship, the individual is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of computer hardware and software, personal computer networks, peripheral equipment, and electronic mail systems. They assess user training needs and provide training to ensure effective use of applications. The technician ensures that all computer hardware and software systems are in proper working order, and promptly addresses any issues that arise. They are also responsible for maintaining an inventory of all computer-related equipment and supplies and ensuring that they are properly stored and secured. The technician may work closely with other members of the IT department and may report to the Shipboard Systems Manager.


ASSISTANT DATA SYSTEM MANAGER
Position requires basic computer knowledge, proficiency in Microsoft office, sales and managerial experience and excellent customer service skills.
An Assistant Data System Manager in a cruise ship provides support to the Data System Manager and assists with the day-to-day management and operation of the ship’s computer systems. They are responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, personal computer networks, and peripheral equipment. In addition, they may assist with assessing user training needs and training users in the effective use
of applications. To excel in this role, candidates are required to have basic computer knowledge, proficiency in Microsoft office, sales and managerial experience, and excellent customer service skills.


Requirements:

  • A motivated self-starter with 1-2 years AS/400 and Win/NT experience. POS knowledge is a plus.
  • completion of two years of college-level coursework in computer science, information technology or a related field and two years of general computer installation, maintenance, and repair experience.
  • Fluent English Language skill.
