Logistic Int. Services Corp. do not charge any fee for seafarer recruitment or placement as is established in MLC 2006. However, the seafarer will have to cover the cost of obtaining a national statutory medical certificate, the national seafarer’s book and a passport or other similar personal travel documents, not including, however, the cost of visas, which shall be borne by the shipowner

Contract of employment-Probation period-Company regulations and policies on board
The stipulated time of contract will be between 6 to 9 months approximately.
The contract will start to have validity since the moment the seafarer takes their fly to the destination port and ends on the date on which they are considered duly repatriated.
At Logistic Services Corp., we don’t have any direct policies that discuss the tattoos or piercing that an applicant may have.
However, for the shipowner Body art such as visible markings are not acceptable. Body piercing other than a piercing in each earlobe are not acceptable.
While it is possible to make a request, there is no assurance that you and your partner will be assigned to the same ship.
During the initial screening phase, your Recruiting Agent will furnish you with the job description and terms of the agreement for the preselected role.
Most cruise lines provide their workers with bi-monthly salary payments in US Dollars. If you are being compensated in a different currency, your Recruitment Specialist will inform you. Your wages will be deposited directly into a bank account that has been established by the cruise line in your name. Once the account is established, you will be able to conduct transfers via the bank’s online platform and withdraw money using a debit card provided to you.
Your contract will outline the number of working hours you are expected to complete each week, as well as whether your job qualifies for additional pay for overtime. The hourly overtime rate may differ depending on the position you hold.
If you become ill onboard, you need to notify your supervisor immediately, or you can call the designated emergency number that connects you with the medical facility on the ship. After a shipboard doctor examines you, you may be advised to rest or referred to a doctor at the next port of call. While a crew member is under contract onboard, most cruise lines offer medical coverage for illnesses.
In simpler terms, when you start working on a cruise ship, there is usually a 90- day trial period where your supervisor will assess your performance and skills. If you don’t meet the required standards, your contract may be ended without warning, and you’ll have to pay for your travel home. The duration of this probationary period can vary based on your contract or the cruise line you’re working for.
Since you will be employed on short-term, renewable contracts that span between 7 to 9 months, you will not technically be considered as being ‘on leave’ during periods between contracts. As such, you will not receive payment for the time you are not on board. However, some companies may include a percentage of your vacation pay in your monthly salary, and higher-ranking employees may benefit from continuous pay policies.
Righst of Seafarers- MARITIME LABOUR CONVENTION MLC-2006
Logistic Int. Services Corp. works under they regulation of The Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), 2006.
The Maritime Labour Convention aims to ensure full global protection of the rights of seafarers. The Convention establishes the rights of seafarers to decent working and living conditions. The Convention contains articles addressing:
- The minimum requirements to work on board a ship
- Conditions of employment
- Accommodation, leisure facilities, food, and inn service
- health protection, medical care, welfare, and Social Security protection
El Ministerio de Trabajo y Desarrollo Laboral (Mitradel) is in charge to regulate our company’s operations.
Seafarers have the right to repatriation in the following circumstances: to.
- If seafarers’ employment contract expires while they are on board.
- Where the owner of the ship or seafarer abandons the seafarers’ contract of employment for justified reasons unless such termination is the result of misconduct by the seafarer or a resignation.
- Where the seafarer is no longer able to perform his duties under his contract of employment.
All travel expenses to join the ship will be at the expense of the new hire (crew member). If you are offered a contract by a cruise line, they will be responsible for the return air transportation between the nearest international airport to your home and the port of embarkation, wherever in the world that port will be.
The Convention applies to all persons who are employed or working in any capacity on board a ship-(seafarers).
The Maritime Labor Agreement (MLC 2006) came into force from August 20, 2013.
To. All seafarers, including dealers, will now have the same benefits under the agreement. Modifications in some key areas will allow compliance with MLC2006:
- Medical Forms: New formats are used for medical examinations.
- Visas: Now companies will pay for the visas that are necessary.
- Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA): Collective bargaining agreements will be up to date.
- Employment/Contract Agreements: Before joining the ship, the seafarers will have access to review the previous contract. Additionality, a copy of the agreement will be carried out on board the vessel.
- Better complaint process: The seafarer will be provided with a copy of the complaint procedures on board.
- Service Record – Seafarers must receive the document containing a record of their employment on board the ship. Seafarers have the right tolodge complaints directly with the master and, where they deem it necessary, with the relevant external authorities.
Living on Board-Routine activities and more
This is in addition to training for your new job onboard and training in ethics, corporate culture, service, inter-cultural sensitivity and any training offered by your supervisor or a representative of the training & development department to optimize the efficiency of your job performance, customer service and company- standards.
Sending money to your home country or bank account is a simple and fast process. You can request that a specific amount of your salary be deposited each month into your preferred account, or you can send money from the ports using agencies like Western Union or Money Gramm.
For most jobs on cruise ships, you will need to wear a uniform, and you may need to pay for some or all of it. If your job requires you to pay for your uniform or a part of it, the cost will be deducted from your onboard account. You are responsible for maintaining your account and settling any outstanding balances at the end of each payroll period.
While you are under contract, your expenses on board will be relatively low. However, it is important to note that you will still have personal expenses like phone calls, emails, postage, laundry for your personal clothing, and purchases at the crew bar, gift shop, or any revenue venues around the ship that you are allowed to visit as part of your job.
Of course! However, your ability to explore ports of call will be determined by your work schedule. Your supervisor will give you a schedule of your work hours and time off, typically on a rotational basis, so that all crew members have the opportunity to enjoy the ports of call.
You are not allowed to go to guest areas unless you have work to do there. But some jobs might permit you to go to guest areas when you’re not working as long as you’re wearing the correct uniform or attire for that time of day. However, guests will always come first, so be aware of that. It’s not allowed to go to guests’ rooms unless the captain has approved it beforehand. If you’re caught doing this without approval, you could lose your job right away.
If you want to leave your job and go back home, we recommend that you talk to your supervisor or the Human Resources Manager (if there is one on your ship) first to explain why you want to leave. If you still want to go home after talking to them, you will need to give them a resignation letter. You will also need to buy your own plane ticket home and pay for all the costs of leaving the ship. For that reason, we highly suggest you be sure about the decision to start a career onboard.

Currently, the companies we work with require all applicants to have a high level of the language in question. All applicants should have at least 60% on English.
Although it would be advantageous for candidates seeking employment with a cruise line to have completed hospitality university or technical courses, it is mandatory to have a minimum of two years of work experience in the relevant field. Applicants applying for the position of Youth Staff/Counselor must possess a degree in Pedagogy or Psychology and must have previous experience of working with children in Youth Camps or schools.
If you are interest in applying with us for any of the difference positions, that we currently offer, you´ll need to have the fallowing documents: passport, seaman’s book, COVID vaccination card (3 doses), yellow fever card, STW certificates, among other documents for boarding.
However, if you do not have them, this is NOT an impediment to apply to us.
The minimum age for employment may differ across various cruise lines. While some of our partnered cruise lines hire personnel as young as 18, individuals working in the Bar Department or serving alcoholic beverages aboard a ship must be at least 21 years old.
At least the 4BST are mandatory for anyone who wants to board offshore vessels for more than 72 hours. Many companies require them even for short boarding periods and other special courses according to the type of vessel.
STCW is an acronym for «Standards of Training, Certification & Watchkeeping». Many people confuse the code itself for the requirement for Basic Training in Safety – often referred to as STCW Training, or STCW Basic Safety Training. STCW Code History: The International Maritime Organization (IMO) held a convention to improve the worldwide standards for safety and training of professional mariners in 1978. The Standards of Training, Certification & Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) Convention established a code adopted by many nations on July 7, 1978, and was named the Seafarers Training, Certification, & Watchkeeping (STCW) Code. Subsequent conventions were held in 1991, 1994, 1995 & 1997, and 2010 to update & revise the code.
The short answer is: If the certificate has an expiry date printed on it, it will not be valid after that specific date and refresher training (if available) is required for that course or to take the course again
STCW Courses certificates issued by Maritime Professional Institute of Panama (MPIP) full fills minimum requirements of Regulation, Section and Table of the STCW Code on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping, for Seafarers, STCW 1978, as amended also recognized by IMO (International Maritime Organization) and valid worldwide.
To qualify for a job, your abilities and expertise must align with the job description. Additionally, every applicant must possess at least an intermediate level of English proficiency, or meet the minimum requirement of the position they are interested in. For most cruise lines, it might be necessary or useful to have knowledge of a second language in order to secure employment.
There’s no really an estimated time for the entire process; it could take around six to eight months, and potentially longer if the desired position is not open. After receiving the approval letter, the date of ship assignment may not be immediate, but you will be notified and provided with a joining date, which will allow you to plan your departure to the port where you will board the ship more effectively.
Cruise Lines often offer training courses to help you move forward in your career at sea. They also have cross-training programs that can help you get promoted. The opportunities on cruise ships are vast, but it all depends on you and the path you want to take for your career on board.
Typically, a notification period of 1 to 2 months is provided. However, there is a chance that urgent boarding may be required, which would necessitate prompt readiness.
If you are chosen for the role, you will need to possess several documents to be eligible to embark, including a passport that is valid for a minimum of one-year, medical examination reports (which are determined by each Cruise Line and will be required once you are approved), as well as a Seafarer Crewmember Visa or Work Visa. If you are selected to work on a Cruise Line, the company will provide you with a JOB LETTER that you can use to apply for a C1/D VISA at the nearest U.S. Embassy.
International regulations dictate that all crew members must undergo a comprehensive medical examination prior to boarding, which includes a range of meticulous medical assessments. Failure to pass this examination will result in denial of embarkation. Designated clinics authorized by each shipping company are responsible for conducting these medical examinations.

Yes, it is true. You will receive an exclusive identification card that will be valid for the duration of your contract. The reasoning for retaining your passport onboard is due to customs regulations. As the ship enters different countries every day, all crew members are required to undergo customs control, and hence, all passports are kept in a centralized location to eliminate the need for you to leave your workplace frequently. This rule is documented in the «Crew Inspection Guide» provided by the Customs & Border Protection Office and is applicable to all cruise companies. Please note that each cruise company has its own version of this document
